Koralie draws its inspiration from Japanese illustration, from 13th century prints to manga. Folkloric elements from other cultures are added to her compositions: African braids, English curls, Russian dolls, Indian accessories, 16th century headdresses, kimono, chandeliers...
Beyond the initial naive or Japanese appearance of her work, it is the rigor of her graphics, the impeccable symmetry of her compositions, and the play of textures and materials obtained by her collages, that seduce and carry the viewer into Koralie's elegant universe.
After living in Brooklyn for the past few years, during which time she exhibited extensively in the US, Koralie is now based in Paris. She does not deny her past as a "street artist", which helped her to make her work known, and continues to put up her urban collages whenever time permits.
