Major artist of the Figuration Narrative, Peter Klasen through photography, painting, sculpture, three-dimensional installations, also represents a sharp and demanding awareness of contemporary life.
His work crystallizes anxieties, gathers symptoms while provoking reflection and liberating the imagination. Both collage and trompe - l'oeil, his creations are inspired by urban reality, its signs, its codes, its coldness and its harshness.
What makes Peter Klasen original is the intention that drives his work and the material of choice he has given himself to express it (work from photography).
A contemporary artist in his means and his research, Peter Klasen also wants to be a watchdog of contemporary life. He wants to underline its ambivalence, the aspects at the same time inseparable and contrary: the fascination and the seduction which it exerts by its effectiveness, and the obvious or hidden dangers which it conceals.
