At the end of the 1960s, Adami asserted himself as one of the representatives of the New Figuration movement. He developed, and then definitively established, his formal system: his figures are made up of clean, colored shapes surrounded by thick lines. After his installation in Paris in 1970, the Museum of Modern Art devoted an exhibition to him. The Centre Georges Pompidou did the same in 1985, followed by the Grand Palais in 2008.
